Good Day. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1960. Shown here are two westbound PRR freight trains crossing the Juniata River Railroad Bridge at the same time. The "big" train in the foreground features gondolas filled with scrap, while the "little" train in the background includes hopper cars filled with coal. During Hurricane Agnes on 24 June 1972, the surging waters of the usually-bucolic Juniata River flowed over the top of the middle pillar! Also visible in the distance are Hollidaysburg's historic "Chimney Rocks." This photo was taken at the Juniata River Railroad Bridge, near Bedford Street and the Passenger Station. #11 of 12. |
