With L421 now on the other end of the yard for a bit, we knew we had a bit of a time gap before they would come back and finish their work on the west end before departing. Along with the CSX and CVNR moves planned that day, the Whitewater Valley also had a 1000 departure out of Grand Central Station for Metamora. I had assumed one of the Limas was the planned power for the day, but when we heard "532" over the radio, it was an immediate move over to downtown. Sure enough, the MILW SD9 was in charge of the southbound train today. Despite being still covered in oil, seeing the only operating MILW SD9 still in MILW orange is always a treat! |
