NOPSI Carrollton Station
Title:  NOPSI Carrollton Station
Description:  New Orleans Public Service streetcars 832, 806 and 965, and trolley bus 1208 were parked at Carrollton Station in May 1954. Car 832 had been built by the Perley A. Thomas Car Works in 1922 and was sold to the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in May 1964, right after the original CANAL car line was discontinued. The 806 was built by Brill in 1922 and was scrapped in February 1955, less than a year after this photo was taken. Car 965 was built by Perley Thomas in 1924 and has never been retired. Bus 1208 had been built by the St. Louis Car Co. in February 1952 for the new TULANE line and was among the last NOPSI trolley buses in service. It was one of 33 SLC buses retired in March 1967 and sold for operation in Mexico City. (approximate date of photo)
