PRR 8501, 8500 & 8502
Description:
Here are three consecutive numbered EMD GP7's built in 1952 sitll shiny with little road grime. Interesteing note on back by the photographer Joseph McCormack, "Always kept together and used for helper (pusher) service." Interesting as he has photos of all three separate from each other and not kept together!

Title:
PRR 8503, ES-15M, 1955
Description:
Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Pickett that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 13 October 1955. Prominent here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8503 and #8502. Both are ES-15M's built by GM-EMD in August of 1952 and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. In this context, they're serving as helper locomotives on a mail and express train that's rounding the Curve on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, where they'll be uncoupled and returned to Altoona for further assignment. Note PRR J-1 (2-10-4) "Texas" #6154 running backward on Track #2! ("LouisFols"; #27 of 31)

All were built by GM-EMD. #8503 and #8502 are ES-15M's built in August of 1952 and rated at 1,500 horsepower each; they're helping to pull a mail and express train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, where they'll uncouple and return to Altoona for yet another helper run up "The Mountain."
