CR GP7 #5981
Description:
Looking very much used, this former EL GP7 was sitting in the Juniata Yard in Altoona, PA, awaiting it's fate. Originally built by EMD in September of 1952 as ERIE 1243, it went on to the EL roster as EL #1243, When it moved over to the Convrail roster, it became CR #5981. Unfortunately, the loco was scrapped just a few months after the photo was taken by an unnknown photographer. This may have been the last image of it before being scrapped in Ausut of 1979.
