Ready to go
Title:  Ready to go
Description:  Just about anywhere. I was riding Amtrak into Washington, and was able to shoot this from the train as we rolled past Ivy City. Note the ex PRR MP 54 painted Washington Terminal. Chessie power was common on the B&O trains, which Maryland DOT had taken over, but did not have their own power to run. Thus we have B&O 6607 in the company of a variety of Amtrak units awaiting their next excursion. Interesting I should find a shot of B&O 6607. Its a unit number that seems to be everywhere for me. Ive shot CR, NS, and SOO units with this number, in addition to this one.

Amtrak Inspection Train
Title:  Amtrak Inspection Train
Description:  An Amtrak inspection train was rolling off of the Missouri Pacific's former T&P Avoyelles Subdivision branch and onto the main line between Shreveport and New Orleans at Addis, Louisiana. The train was on its way from Marshall, Texas - and a connection with the route of the TEXAS EAGLE - to New Orleans. It consisted of F40PH 279, Amfleet coach 21068 and office car 10000; and as with most of these inspection trips, nothing ever came of it.

Amtrak 279
Title:  Amtrak 279
Description:  I never got the story on this, but two locomotives are on the rear of train 336 at Milwaukee. 279 appears to have some front end damage and it could be that the previous night's last train hit something. Here it trails the push-pull consist and will soon be disconnected from shore power and bound for Chicago.
