A patriotic pair of P42DCs take the lead of Amtraks California Zephyr as it slowly creeps past Glenwood Springs historic D&RG-era depot in the scenic Roaring Fork Valley on a partially-cloudy June afternoon. AMTK 5 would be making its 23rd stop along its 33-stop westbound route between Chicago, Illinois and Emeryville, California just before rainfall with a nice pair of P42DCs on the point; AMTK 174 wearing Amtraks new Phase VII livery and AMTK 160 wearing the famous Phase III "Pepsi Can" livery once carried by their fleet of B32-8WHs in honor of their 50th anniversary in 2021. |

Groundhogs Day Sunset at BNSF Murray Yard |
| Description: |
A good variety of locomotives are present at BNSF Murray Yard on the surprisingly warm February afternoon of Groundhogs Day. Parked near the yard office are two Canadian Pacific locomotives (CP ES44AC 9377 and CP AC4400CW 9771) that were assigned to the CPKC Kansas City to Council Bluffs run-through grain service, BNSF GP39-3 2673 (formerly ATSF GP35 1446) idling in the background, and BNSF SD40-2 1957 (formerly C&S 902) trailing on a passing southbound manifest. Prior to the CPKC takeover, this set of Canadian Pacific GEs wouldve likely been from Kansas City Southerns pool of Belles, as the CPKC operations running to and through BNSFs Murray Yard were formerly served by KCS. |

While waiting for the "Spirit of the Union Pacific," UP SD70AH 1943, to depart Fairfax, we were trying to get some long exposure shots of it sitting, there when Eli (KCFanner) noticed this perfectly placed Diet Pepsi can sitting propped on top of this surface right next to UP 1943 basking under the orangey glow of the yard lights. Out of pure coincidence, the colors on this randomly found can matched 1943s livery almost perfectly, so we had to snap some photos before the train continued on its northbound journey. |

Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6507, #6036, and #6307. #6507 is a GF-25A built by General Electric in April of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #6036 is an EF-25A built by GM-EMD in May of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. And #6307 is an AF-27 built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower.
