Great Northern A11 originally was built as a sleeper car GN #9021.in 1911 by Barney & Smith Company. Its "pedigree" started with sleeper GN 9021 > GN BusCar A1 > GN BusCar A11 > BN B7.. During the lineage, it was rebuilt several times and its original wood sheathing was covered with steel. Finally the car was acquired by the Minnesota Transportation Museum in 1981 with the Museum putting the car into service on the Osceola & St. Croix Railroad, in 1999 as an open diner/observation car.
