LIRR 358, DD-1, 1952         
Prevosto. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Modena, Pennsylvania, on 18 May 1952. Shown here is Long Island Rail Road engine #358, a DD-1 (2-B+B-2) electric built in Juniata and rated at 3,160 horsepower. Both units were built for the Pennsylvania Railroad in July of 1910 and sold to the LIRR in December of 1944. PRR "3960" became #358-A, while PRR "3961" became #358-B. Note that the main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping.
