Rare sight  Contributor's Pick!
Not the power, there are still tons of EMD 40s on the UP, and the paint scheme is the same as its been since the 1930s. The unusual thing about this train is its a northbound on the ex MKT. North of Wagoner, he UP uses directional running, since from there to KC, it has both the ex MP via Coffeyville Kan, and the ex MKT via Parsons Kan. It uses the MKT from KC almost exclusively for southbounds, except for this local based in Pryor, OK, 25 miles to the north. I caught it en route to my grandsons football game in nearby Coweta. Football and trains, cant go wrong-and they won!!
