LTEX 2411
My June vacation had finally arrived. My dad and I usually go out to Galesburg during the 3rd week of June. But, usually I have a little time to do some other railfanning activities closer to home, including my yearly "Longest Day" Trip. This year I had selected Deshler, OH to be the hotspot I would visit. I had intended on being in Deshler right at sunrise, but a mere 4 miles outside of Hamler and I heard the IORY Defect Detector go off around Liberty Center. Looking at the clock I noticed that it was the right time for IORYs daily freight to Delta to come back south. I went back and didnt see the train. I almost gave up when I heard the radio controlled crossing go off at Malinta, which gave me a sure sign that the LNL was coming. I missed a southbound on the Toledo Sub, but it did pay off seeing the 3 ex-UP SD60Ms and the ex-BN SD40-2 struggle out of Hamler with their 422 axle train. Glad to see one of the "nicer" UP units leading today.
