PRR Westbound & Eastbound, 1940
Here is a photo by H.W. Pontin via Rail Photo Service that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in July of 1940. Shown here (L to R) is an unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad "I" Class (2-10-0) "Decapod" steam locomotive rounding the Curve with a westbound freight train that's passing an eastbound passenger train. The last car of the latter is a Pullman parlor car named "Federal Hall." John S. Fisher Collection; #14 of 14.
