Norfolk and Western 2050 was built by ALCO in 1923 as a 2-8-8-2 Mallet compound articulated. It hauled coal in the Appalachians until 1959, when it was sold to ARMCO steel as a portable boiler. ARMCO donated it to IRM in 1976, and it came to Union two years later, making one of only two 2-8-8-2s left. Behind it is South Shore Little Joe 803. |
