MP RS11 #952 & #948 - Missouri Pacific         
Two RS11 units were caught sitting quietly in the St Louis, MO, yard by photographer Dennis Schmidt. #952 was built by Alco in 1959 as #4609 (serial #83950) but wore several different numbers in its history with the last number being #76. Sister #948, also built in 1959 (serial #83946), changed numbers several times as well with its last number being #72.

Mike Woodruff General Mopac repowered all of their RS11s with 16-567 EMD engines during 1964-65 and termed them "GP16s". The most obvious spotting feature is the four-stack exhaust manifold. 2/25/2019 10:32:29 AM
