AHC. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1964. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9454 and two other units whose road numbers are not recorded. #9654 is an FF-16 built by Fairbanks-Morse during September of 1950, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in April of 1965 after just 15 years of revenue service. They are pulling a mixed-cargo freight train around the Curve and up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded.
