Here is page 11 of a 17-page version of the Pennsylvania Railroad's 13-page booklet entitled "Altoona Shops Inspection Trip ~ Sunday, May 16, 1937." It appeared in the September 1981 issue of "The Keystone" magazine, page 14. Partial Caption: "The PRR had several locomotives on display without tenders, including . . . M-1a No. 6744. Ladders were provided so the 'fans' could view the cabs. Photo by Dr. Walter Teskey." #6744 is an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in February of 1947, and retired in September of 1959. Photo taken in front of the PRR's Erecting & Machine Shop in Juniata. The map includes a "Key" to Colonial Battlefields along the eastern PRR. |
