"Horseshoe Curve," Pages 48-49, 2004
Here are portions of pages 11 and 12 of a 24-page cover article entitled "Horseshoe Curve: 150 Years." They were published originally in the August 2004 issue of "Trains" magazine, pages 48-49. Partial Caption: "If the torrent of smoke is any indication, the head-end crew is coaxing every bit of power out of the 2-10-4 leading this heavy freight up the hill, approaching the east side of Horseshoe Curve on October 3, 1952." Photo by Marvin Cohen. This train is about to pass under four-track Signal Bridge #2416/7, near where the PRR's Kittanning Point Passenger Station once stood.
