The Catskill Mountain Railroad #1, a Davenport 35 Tonner, fitted with an original Hancock Air Whistle, called "The Duck" because of a small rubber duck mounted on its hood, sits (though fully operational) in the dead-line at Phoenicia, New York. CMRR #1 was built in 1942 for the US Army, before being sold to the U.S. Air Force, Matthews Co. and the Illinois Railroad Museum before finally coming to the Catskill Mountain Railroad. |
