| This was the control panel in N.E. Tower, which is located at the crossing of the Norfolk Southern and CSX on the east side of New Orleans. The tower originally protected this crossing, as shown on the right end of the panel; but in August 1972 the interlockings that had been controlled East City Tower and L&N Tower were transferred here, and these are displayed on the left half of the panel. N.E. Tower closed in September 1990 when its activities were transferred to the NS in Birmingham, but all three towers were still in existence in mid-2016. |
