| One of the functions of some subway yards was as a bone yard for retired buses. East 239th St on the White Plains Rd line in the Bronx was one such place, and there are many early 60s vintage GM fishbowl coaches here, along with some 1955 GM buses, which were all but gone from the NYCTA by this time. |
