This spot along Fernando East Rd is where a branch fro Rio Hondo ran to a farming area near Fernando TX. It was built during the 1920s and was abandoned prior to the 1940s. It had a short and sharp wye near the end of the line for the turning of small steam engines. While the brushline parallels the road; the tracks ran on their own alignment away from the road. This view looks east. |
