C&NW Manitowoc, WI Depot
The southwest and northwest walls of the old C&NW depot adjacent to the currently CN tracks at Manitowoc, WI on 20 Aug. '14. The portion on the right was the baggage section, originally separate from the depot. The depot was built by the MLS&W and dates to at least 1883. Some references suggest it could be the original depot built around the time the railroad was incorporated in 1872. C&NW built a new depot about a mile to the west in 1945, but that one no longer exists. A couple of awkward additions were constructed on this one after the railroad stopped using it. It is/was used by Holiday House of Manitowoc County, Inc. They have a newer facility, so I’m not sure if they still use this building or not.
