P&LE Boxcar (2)
Built in 1929 to specs of the USRA. This 40 foot "shorty" boxcar is said to be the last P&LE 40 footer in existence. It was used as storage for four decades by Perryopolis Feed and Supply. In 2010 a donation of $20,000 made it possible to be purchased, moved, and restored at this location along the former P&LE right-of-way in Boston, PA. The green color was from parent railroad NYC. It is belived this was the original color. It is unfortunate the roster number was not included when it was repainted. I will try to add that info at a later date.

Fred Stuckmann General Cool, I'm surprised that the ladders were left on it. 6/11/2014 12:47:13 PM
Curt Beal General Thanks I'm glad they were. There is a sign advising not to climb on it. 6/11/2014 2:46:29 PM
