Old scan: Disconnected from its mate #6655, it is shown sitting in Yard 8. Part of the #6601 – 6670 group, ordered from the St Louis Car Company (Job 1792) on September 25, 1956 at a cost of $58,000 per unit. In the early 1975 it was repainted for the upcoming bi-centennial and named “George Rogers Clark.” It received a mini-overhaul in 1986 and repainted to “Spirit of Chicago” scheme seen below. It became the property of the Illinois Railway Museum in 1993. |
