CPKC (KCS) local LL31 was heading north on the BNSF at the Highway 156 underpass near Justin, Texas. The train was powered by KCS AC4400CW 4484 and CP AC4400CW 8646, and had five brand new CP(KC) ET44AC units dead in tow: 7457, 7459, 7463, 7461 and 7451. BNSF had previously picked up these CP(KC) units from the Wabtec interchange, just north of this bridge. LL31 originates in the former KCS yard at Wylie, a northern suburb of Dallas, and runs westward 53 miles to a connection with the BNSF at Metro Junction. From there, it heads southward 21 miles to BNSF’s ALLIANCE YARD in Fort Worth to interchange traffic and then it returns back to Wylie. |
