| 8.11.2024 Mechum's River. Buckingham Branch #16 on the lead of the afternoon dinner train that is on its return trip to Staunton. It's running about 30 minutes late due to CSX's westbound empty coal car traffic. Behind the locomotive on a short flatcar rests the generator to power the attached kitchen car. These 2 cars plus an additional dining car are new this year. Last year passengers received boxed meals. Now the meals are cooked fresh in-route. This is BB's second year of departing Staunton, VA with an eastbound dinner train, and its complementary noontime westbound lunch train. |
