Description:
Note on back of photo by photographer Anthony H. Perles states "CNR 5071, class J-21, on train 44 for Quebec." Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in January of 1913 as GTR #191 (Serial #51903, GTR class P5), it was renumbered in 1923 when CN absorbed the Grand Trunk. It became #5071, CN class J-3-b. The loco was retired in June of 1959.

Description:
Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in 1914 as CGR #453, it was later renumbered in 1919 to CN #5080 seen here. This is one of the lucky steam locomotives as it was retired and donated to the City Of Prince Albert, SK, Canada in December of 1961 instead of being scrapped like all the others in its class. Specs - class J-4-a, serial #54764, 69" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 22x28" cylinders, engine weight of 247,000 lb, tractive effort of 34,224 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo.

Beautiful action photo of Canadian National 4-6-2 Pacific #5110 with its freight cars passing by the iconic Stratford station. CN 5110 was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in August of 1919 and served the CN forty years before being scrapped in January of 1959. Serial #61476, class J-4-d. No date, location or photographer was listed but obviously the location is Stratford, Ontario station. Bruce Gemmel found the other pieces of info - Phillip T. Horning took the photo on 4/2/1958. LPS L2 & a pair of CN Pacifics
Description:
A note on the back by photographer Anthony H. Perles states "L&PS L2 at CNR interdange, while CNR 4-6-2's 5585 and 5143 (class K-3) get under way with a coal drag westbound." The L2 )along with its 2 other sisters) was built in 1915 by GE of Canada for a cost of $29,367. After retiring, it was stored for a museum which never materialized. L2 was later sold privately and moved to the Toronto area. In February 1997, L2 was moved to the Halton County Radial Railway following its donation to the OERHA.
