Description:  PURCELL OK July 1977 -- Santa Fe GP38 3546 was built by EMD (b/n 36582) in August 1970 and delivered it in blue with yellow trim. Sometime after this picture was taken it was repainted yellow warbonnet. In January 1985 it was rebuilt as a GP38U and renumbered 2346. On Feb 8 2000 it was patched and renumbered BNSF 2236. Description:  ATSF 3549 NORMAN OK Sept. 1977 -- An F unit!on the Nowers-Norman local provides the backdrop as this GP-38 makes its way south. The local ran to Norman and spent the night on this spur track. The track was very close by a local watering hole and sometimes the crew had to check clearance to parked vehicles before pulling into thre spur. The watering hole was originally the Norman station on the Interurban line. Note the CN unit trailing.

Description:  NORMAN OK June 3 1979 -- Eastbound (compass north) train 593, headed up by GP30 3203, overtakes a train led by GP38 3556. This is the siding on the north side of Norman beside U.S. 77 and the former Naval Air Station. The 3203 was built by EMD as GP30 1207 in May 1962 It became 3207 in the 1969-70 general renumbering. In Jan 1983 is was rebuilt as GP30u 2707. On March 17 2000 it became BNSF 2407. (Roster information from atsfrr.net)
