This original b&w print is heavily sepia toned now but still shows Lehigh Valley 4-8-4 "Wyoming" type loco #5126 (serial #61809, T-3 class) highballing it through West Portal, NJ. "Wyoming" was the name that LV gave to the Northern type loco. This loco lasted until meeting the scrapper's torch in January of 1951. Specs - 77" drivers, impressive 275psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 435,000 lb, tractive effort of 66,500 lb. No date or photographer was listed for the photo so an approximate date was used. |
