PRR 6987, M-1, c. 1955
Title:  PRR 6987, M-1, c. 1955
Description:  SFM. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide (converted to B&W) of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6987, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in March of 1956 after 30 years of faithful service. Looks to me like the second pair of wheels in the leading truck are MIA! The photographer's name, the date, and the location are not recorded.

PRR 6987, M-1, 1955
Title:  PRR 6987, M-1, 1955
Description:  MDiv. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken near Mill Creek, Pennsylvania, on 23 July 1955. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6987, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in March of 1956 after 30 years of faithful service. In this context, it's rockin' 'n' rollin' with a mixed-cargo freight train bound for the Enola Yards. ("Stoneborobranch"; #10 of 56)
