Title:
PRR 5693, B-1, 1963
Description:
Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by David R. Sweetland that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, in early 1963. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania No. 5693, Class B-1, Enola, Pa., 1963." Shown here is PRR engine #5693, a B-1 (C) switcher built in Juniata during December of 1934, rated at 570 horsepower, renumbered "4757" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger, and retired in January of 1969 after 35 years of faithful service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electric Railroading ~ Penn Central and Pennsylvania Lines" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (868-3).
