CR C425 #5060 |
Description: |
Nice roster shot of a retired Alco C425. Built by Alco in November of 1964 as PRR 2421, it served later as PC 2421, then CR 2421 before being renumbered near retirement to #5060. Retirement came on 3/16/1981. Due to the color degredation of slide from aging, I flipped it into b&w mode. Conrail conductior Ken Taylor captured the moment. |

CR C425 #5060 & #2422 |
Description: |
Sad scrap line of Conrail C425's. Note the left loco has its new number, #5060, which previously was 2421. Next is #2422 but a smaller #5061 is written over the fuzzed 2422. Ken Taylor, a Conrail conductor, took the photo of the renumbering that had started just before these locos were retirement. Due to the color degradation of the slide, I converted it to a b&w photo. |

Looks like CR 5064 sits at the end of a scrap line at the Conway yard. Built by Alco in February of 1965 as PRR #2426, it served the Pennsy until the merger with NYC. It then became PC 2426 followed by CR 2426 before being renumbered #5064 just before retirement on 3/16/1981. Conrail conductor Ken Taylor documented this loco before it moved on to another life. |

CR C425 #5068 |
Description: |
Nice roster shot of a retired Alco C425 sitting in the scrap line at Conway yard. Originally built as PRR #2432, it transitioned into PC #2432, then CR #2432 before its last renumbering to CR 5068, Retirement was on 3/16/1981. CR conductor Ken Taylor caught it sitting in the scrap line ahead of sister CR 5075 (nee PRR 2441). The color slide had a severe color shift so I flipped it to a b&w image to preserve the details. Ken Taylor, a CR conductor, took the color slide shortly afterthe loco's retirement on 3/16/1981. |
